NJ Town Works assists — your CMFO is responsible
NJ Town Works is a tool that helps a New Jersey municipal finance office prepare files faster. It does not replace your certified municipal finance officer (CMFO). The CMFO remains the official responsible for the accuracy of your records and for any figures filed or posted.
Nothing posts automatically
Every result is a file and an explanation for you to review. NJ Town Works never posts to your general ledger, never files anything with the State, and never sends anything on your behalf. You review, and you post.
Not legal, accounting, or audit advice
Outputs are not legal, accounting, tax, or audit advice. They are a starting point that your finance professionals review against your records and the applicable New Jersey authorities before relying on them.
Your files are private to your town
The documents you upload are kept private to your municipality and are isolated from every other municipality. Your files are not used to train AI models.
